Omer Akbar
Founder & CEO, SolveDaily
Omer Akbar started SolveDaily for one simple reason: he was tired of puzzle sites that guess. Every morning, he makes sure the day’s answers are checked against the official source before they go live. If an answer can’t be confirmed, the page waits. No exceptions, no guesses.
A quick note on independence: SolveDaily is Omer’s own project. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by The New York Times or any other game publisher.
What Omer oversees at SolveDaily
Four checks stand between a puzzle and your screen.
Daily puzzle confirmation
The day starts with the boring stuff that matters: the right date, the right puzzle number, the right edition of each game. Nothing gets written until the puzzle itself is confirmed.
Answer verification
Every answer gets checked against the game’s official source, then checked again by a second pair of eyes. Only then does it go on the page.
Spoiler-safe hints
Hints are written fresh every day, starting gentle and getting stronger. Answers always hide behind a tap. You stop reading the second something clicks.
Holding the uncertain
Some days an answer just can’t be confirmed. On those days, the page waits. A blank space beats a wrong answer.
Four standards behind every page
The rules the whole site runs on.
-
Verification comes first
Nothing goes live until it’s confirmed. Being first means nothing if the answer is wrong.
-
Spoilers stay protected
Hints first, answers hidden. That order never flips, not even once.
-
Never publish a guess
If we’re not sure, we don’t publish. That’s the whole reason readers trust this site.
-
Corrections move fast
Mistakes happen. When one is confirmed, it gets fixed right away, out in the open.
